A Interview With Me

An Interview With Me

What is the last fictional book you read?
Not to seem like a uncultured swine but I can't genuinely remember the last book I read, so it must have been a fair while ago, but in my defense I often read through various sites on the internet and certainly get my fair amount of reading in.

What is the last non-fiction book read?
The "D&D Basic Rules" for the 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying system, I was mainly reading through it for inspiration of a homebrew roleplaying game I've been designing in my spare time with a few friends.

What is the title of the last film you saw?
"The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey" chances are anyone reading this already knows of the film, but for the sake of information its a story of a unlikely crew of dwarves, a wizard and a "Hobbit" setting off through a fantasy setting to reclaim a mountain once lost by the dwarves ancestors to a great dragon who wanted their gold.
How often do you read a newspaper?
I don't often read a physical newspaper unless i'm waiting at the barbers or something, but I often search for articles of news I've heard from people or other sources via the internet, its easier that way as I can get a less opinionated view on the events in the world by reading a few articles from reputable sites.

Which exhibition did you last visit?
E3 was probably the last and best exhibition I've ever been to, I was only able to get in due to connections through my college, it was nice to get a sneak peak at games due to come out but in my honest opinion didn't live up to the hype, the thing I most enjoyed was a fair amount of free goodies I took away from it.
How many hours a week do you spend playing video games?
At a accurate guess probably 15+ Hours I've had to cut down in the past few years due to work and education needs but I still find more than enough time to glue myself to a computer screen and play games.

How many hours a week do you spend playing non-digital games?
It can vary a fair bit but recently I've been playing more that I normally would, at this time I've played far more games of Ludo than I care to admit but that seems to be coming to a close as last night we destroyed the board by spilling a drink, a pity really.

  1. Hi Henry,

You might find it interesting to read the novel on which a film is based in order to see which parts of the story -- or even which characters -- are omitted or changed.

If your ludo board is no longer servicable, you may be pleased to learn that there are books containing games in the library. One such book, Irving Finkel's Discover and Play Five Famous Ancient Games (actually a children's "activity" book, but no less interesting for that for those interested in games) contains a board and rules for pachisi, the Indian forerunner of ludo. It also contains some other interesting games that we'll be looking at over the next few weeks.
